Invitation to the Sixth International Police Cricket Festival in Antigua and Barbuda

The Executive Committee of the International Police Cricket Festival (IPCF) during their meeting in Cape Town, South Africa in 2007, awarded The Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda host of the Sixth Festival in 2009.

The cost for participating teams in Antigua and Barbuda for the Sixth IPCF is US$2,500.00 per person. This cost will provide for accommodation, ground transportation, meals, cricket operations and official functions organized by the LOC.

Festival Dates

The Sixth IPCF July 11th – 24th , 2009

Official Functions

• Opening Ceremony
• Evening at Shirley’s Heights
• Island Tour, Beach Picnic and Bar B Que
• Closing Ceremony

Transportation

Transport will be provided for:
 Airport transfers
 All official functions
 All matches

Where teams wish to travel as a group outside what is mentioned above separate arrangements can be made.

Where individuals or small groups wish to travel privately public transport (Taxi/ Bus) is available at the individual’s expense.

Accommodation

Teams will be accommodated at the Jolly Beach Resort and Spa in Bolans, Antigua. Arrangements are been made for double occupancy (two per room). Visit www.jollybeachresort.com for information about this hotel.

Meals
This package includes Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Lunch will be served at grounds only to the playing teams for the particular match. Arrangements will be in place to allow individuals to purchase lunch at grounds if they so desire.

Cricket Operations

The Organizing Committee agreed that the tournament will be played with white balls. Teams are encouraged to wear coloured uniforms for the matches. If all members of a team do not have coloured uniform the entire team must play in white.

There will be post match presentations at the end of each game and a man of the series will be named at the end of the festival. Other awards may be considered as we draw closer towards the festival.

A maximum of 16 teams is expected to attend the 2009 Festival. This invitation is extended to the original IPCF members as well as new Police teams who may be interested in participating in Festival. Generally to all Police cricket teams world wide.

 20 x 20 tournament
 45 Overs main trophy tournament

Special notes

The 2009 IPCF is planned to facilitate persons wanting to remain in Antigua for an extended vacation after the Festival to experience the Caribbean most colourful summer festival (Antigua and Barbuda Carnival). Our Carnival activities officially open on 25th July 2009.

The official currency of Antigua and Barbuda is the Eastern Caribbean Currency (ECC) however, Euros, Sterling, US dollars and Canadians dollars are legal tender and are widely accepted by all business.
